If this is religious propaganda it sucks

Some quarters of the Internet are complaining that the the American burger chain, In-N-Out (WARNING: horrible music intro) is pushing religious propaganda on its products as the picture below shows.

Now, putting aside that yes, I know what that verse says without looking it up thanks to Sunday School, as propaganda goes it kind of sucks doesn't it? I mean, it's on the bottom of the cup. You;d have to drink it before you probably noticed.

This said, they burger chain could be creating a rod for its own back with litigation. After all, if some muppet decides to tip it up with hot coffee in it just to check they're bound to sue.

According to that reliable font of knowledge, Wikipedia, this practice first started in the 80s, so I don't know why there's a fuss now.

John 3:10 - This is how we know who the children of God are and who the children of the devil are: Anyone who does not do what is right is not a child of God; nor is anyone who does not love his brother.

Not really sure how that applies to burgers tho...

'In-n-Out' sounds like a redneck chain of brothels...

For the record, In-N-Out make the definitive burger: Double Double Animal style.

If I remember right I noticed an Ezekiel(or possibly Isaiah) ref on the chips wrapper. Christian, Family-run business who make very subtle references to their faith; Can't see the problem myself.

Diz, you have been played for a dumbass. In-and-out have been doing this for ages and ages. It's a family-owned business and if some douchebag tried to sue, they would get their ass handed to them. In-and-out is not McDonald's. But that is one tasty burger, if "Donny" from "The Big Lebowski" is to be believed.

SaltedSlug is correct. Double double animal style is burger heaven. I'm not religious but I couldn't care less about some discreet slogans when In-n-out's cow based offering is as good as it is...

And the problem is what exactly?

In-N-Out rocks.

It's not the weirdest fast-food chain - check out Chick-fil-A for a truly appalling company.

Piers is referring to the first epistle of St John. The reference on the cup appears to be to John's gospel, 3:16 "for God so loved the world that he gave his only son, so that whosoever believeth on him might not perish but have everlasting life". Only people who know the Bible are going to know what it is or bother to find out, so whatsdaproblemwiddat?

and chick-fil-a is appalling for exactly what reason? they make a good sandwich and have the decency to be closed on sunday. why arent you decrying mcdonalds support of extreme left and homosexual causes? hmmm....
in-n-out is a great, family owned company with a superior product. kudos to them for adding little reminders on their packaging.
