Westminster Council blocks staff seeing anti-Council website
Remember the Tory-controlled Westminster Council bike parking fees stories over the past month? Rather amusingly Westminster City Council have now decided to ban anyone in Council premises from reading the protest website.
I'm assuming their press office is allowed to read it though?

I think Capita tried to do a similar thing when the Congestion Charging was being set up for London. Actually, I think they were going to discipline anybody accessing them. Reason was that the websites and forums had become rather too well informed about the inner workings of the system.
It is surprising (or maybe not) how some of these block systems can be bypassed simply by viewing each page via the Google Cache instead.
Sure it's not just a general policy filter?
I'm a Councillor and the council is banned from reading my website (darrylbeckford.blogspot.com) by such a filter.
I always find entertaining. Especially as it means the officers never see what I write...

Absolute guarantee that any staff with balls will read it at home. Westminster council - suspect history and shady PR boss.
The City of Edinburgh council did exactly the same with www.edinburghsucks.com a couple of years ago. It got in the local newspaper, edinburgh evening news and suddenly the block came off.
They then started monitoring council email to see if anyone was email him the stuff he put up. I wasn't stupid enough to send it from my work machine - I did it from the library for free round the corner on council time.
I think the guy is now running for office himself at www.johnwallace.me.uk under the JuryTeam banner.

Umm, it's "Westminster", not "Westminister", unless that's a deliberate typo on your part.

I've been part of the anti-bike parking tax campaign, and Westminster Council have behaved pathetically. Nasty bunch and make me ashamed to be a Tory...
