Check out Frank Turner, a slightly more up to date and vaguely less political Billy Bragg. Whilst he may have written a track called 'Thatcher Fucked The Kids' some time back that I would rather disagree with, there is a track off his latest album called Love, Ire & Song (both the album and the track). I think it totally sums up where we are right now.
Bragg has never done anything anti-politics, though you may think he has, it has always been pro-Labour and because he was a coward.
I can't stand this arsehole, who raves about being an ex-soldier and how he knows and wraps himself in it on marches etc. but the truth is he refused to soldier because he couldn't take it and didn't want to be sent to fight. He was detested and was the type of prick who inevitably, every Saturday, got chinned because he was a prick in the NAAFI. The type who would be company clerk or a storeman.
Don't think Labour were ever left enough for our Billy - more the SWP. But yeah, typical "I hate the rich - right up to the point that I become rich, then I wanna live like 'em" fuggin' hypocrite. Wrote some good lyrics, my fave being "How can you lie there and think of England, when you don't even know who's in the team" - from "Greetings to the new Brunette" - classic!

I love the way Billy Bragg is like abortion. Always guaranteed to cause a reaction :)

I love billy. All that nonsense about the unions is obviously bosh, but his songs on love and nice things always warm the heart.
