A good many of those toilets are not on the Tube, but nearby in Railway Stations (that shows my age) or other facilities. Many of these are not free but pricey, say 30 or even 50p a time. The result on a long trip and if you are in need doubles the journey time and adds to the cost. Also it assumes they are open, and that really is taking pot luck.
