What would happen if Gordon Brown's strings were cut?

I don't wish to labour [sic] this point but has anyone noticed this "push the back of your hands forward like Blair" approach that Brown is doing? (see video). When Blair did it it was 'cool', it looked natural, it looked like he had passion. When Gordon does it it just.... I don't know.... it just looked utterly forced. It's like he talks and you can actually see the thought bubble saying "must do Blairite style hand waving". Given this Telegraph article perhaps it provides the explanation.

I know this upsets some of the lefties, but seriously, the guy is just weird isn't it? There is this sort of "forcedness" (yes I know it's not a word) to everything he seems to do whilst speaking. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying Blair was not doing it deliberately too. It's just, he didn't look like he was trying to do it when he did it. Brown on the other hand is just like... well... it's like watching a puppet show where you can see the puppet master control the actions. Waving hands around is fine, but the key is making it look natural isn't it?

From a purely objective standpoint, wouldn't it be interesting to see what would happen if the puppet master strings were cut? Perhaps though, he's convinced himself that if he just mimics Blair mannerism that is the key to success? Maybe it's not the strings that are in control by the 'psychologically flawed' psyche?

It's the same as when he smiles, Dizzy. The man is a soulless ghoul, incapable of making the normal look natural. Most politicians, as you say, can at least pretend with body language if it doesn't come easy for them. But Brown can't. And that's not because he's some sort of honest guy who doesn't like to fool people. It's because is a self-obsessed, nasty, boorish bully with absolutely no people skills whatsoever.

Much as I hate to admit it, I thought he was much better at the hand waving than 90%+ of BBC reporters.

I know that I have grown into a cross between Victor Meldrew & Alf Garnett, and, maybe as a result of this, I can no longer bear to watch the news on TV because of the distraction of the hand waving loons.

I'd say that the BBC ought to sign up Gordon's hand waving coach, however much it cost, and set him or her to work on their news staff.

Compared to the Robert Preston chap, Gordon looked very normal.

And, surely it should be applauded that Gordon's hands (and fingers) are engaged in a relatively wholesome activity.

@Anonymous

"A class with no white kids!"

New Labour heaven.

Re no white kids:
The BBC and other film crews are all based in central London and are too lazy to go out to the subhurbs to do any filming. Most inner city schools now have a majority of ethnic minority pupils.
The very worst schools have a fair number of white underclass, but Brown wouldn't be seen dead in one of those.
Apart from the above, Lefties think scools are not "authentic" or "representative" if they are not a racial melting pot.

My wife can't talk if you tie her hands behind her back. Perhaps we should try this with Brown.

Did any of the kids in that country have any idea who he was or what he was talking about?
