Nixon won two elections and served for several years as president before he turned into a quivering mass of paranoia and egomania though. Brown's had hardly four months...
And Nixon actually knew the meaning of the word "candour", and could give a very good speech
To compare Brown to Nixon is a disgusting slur on the former President. Brown isn't fit to lick his boots.
"Gordon Brown is Labour’s Richard Nixon. That is not to suggest for an instant that he is a crook — far from it — but he has Nixon’s combination of immense political talent and utter clumsiness. The buttoned-up suit, the mouth slightly agape, the physical awkwardness, the alarming smile which seems to appear from nowhere as if a button marked “smile” has been pressed in his head, the nocturnal brooding on imaginary grievances encouraged by a group of chippy cronies — Brown, like Nixon, suffers from a kind of political Asperger’s syndrome. Intellectually brilliant, he sometimes seems socially barely functional: a little bit . . . odd."
Mark Heenan is spot on - Nixon had more intelligence in his little finger than Gay Gordo's got in all his stumps. Before he lost it, Nixon was not a bad President, whereas the snot-gobbler has been an unmitigated curse on the country from the outset. Not fit to lick Nixon's boots indeed!

To paraphrase one for the other:
'What taxes?'
If one may hark back to the 60s yet again,
"Would you buy a used car from this man?"
It's well-worn, but worth trotting out at least one more time ......
Good article by Robert Harris drawing the same conclusion:

They both look like ventriloquists dummies.
Have you seen the press release from the conservative website saying Brown is raiding pensions again?
