The Ministry for the Middle Classes

Due to certain issue I may have to take a day off from blogging on Tuesday and pop across the Channel to Luxembourg. In mentioning this to Croydonian he said "The country with a minister for the middle classes. FACT." And 'lo for it is true!
They don't have a Ministry for the Working Classes mind you, so I am presuming that the tiny nation doesn't actually have any proles.

Strictly speaking, just a country with a Ministry for the Middle Classes. Belgium has a "Ministère des classes moyennes et de l'agriculture", but it is unclear exactly why they think the two should go together.

The Dutch have had minsisters for the "Middenstand", but alas no more although they have plenty of minsiters for Social this and Sociatl that.

I would be failing to add to the gaiety of the nation if I did not point out that the minister in question has the surname 'Boden'. Yes, really.

A few years ago one of them (I think Belgium, but who can remember which of those little countries is which?) had a Minister for the Middle Classes with the surname Bourgeois.
