Prescott to announce his retirement in June
According to the Hull Daily Mail, Prescott will announce his retirement from the House of Commons in June. The paper is tipping the local councillor, Gary Wareing for the seat (which I did last October) although some also believe that Prescott's son might go for it too.

By election probably in late September, so that the victor can attend the Coronation Conference.
Word is that Darlington and Sedgefield will be holding by elections on the same day.
Surely this one and Blair's should be all-women shortlists. So if you want nepotism look no further than their wives ...
