Just Cause - The Game

Spotted this little treasure on the TV last night. A new computer game called Just Cause which is all about, so it seems, playing the part of a socialist revolutionary akin to Che Guevara whilst running around with guns shooting people.

Now don't get me wrong, I don't mind a good shootem-up. It's the overt political dimension to the good guys versus bad guys that bothers me really. Fighting against political oppression is not the preserve of the Left.

Provides a little balance from all those shoot 'em ups that portray US marines delivering democracy to third world countries, I suppose.

Games such a what Bob? Medal of Honour where you can be Allied or Axis powers? Delta Force where it's fighting against Colombian Drug barron? Rainbow Six where it's a NATO special forces rapid reaction unit operating out of Hereford for hostage crises?

You're showing your age Bob.

I played the demo. It's no GTA - but that might be a good thing in some respects.
