Anyone want a wallet?

I just thought I would bring you all an update on the Downing Street Gift Shop and the sales figures for some of its branded items over the past 12 months. It seems the teddy bears are quite a popular buy, with 84 being sold during the past 12 months.

There are also 54 lucky people out there with Downing Street branded oven gloves, perfect for handling political hot potatoes no doubt.

I was not shocked however to learn that the Downing Street branded wallet has shown to have the equivalent prestige of the currency of this great nation that it is designed to hold. It seems only six lucky people have bought one in the last 12 months.

Now the thing is, when it comes to wallets (or purses) there are some traditions about them. Firstly you don;t buy your own, you get given them as a gift. Second, when you do give them to someone you put some money in them. I wonder how many Downing Street wallets were given as gift with an IOU or a moth in it as a joke?
