Apparently the Labour Party have issued a drop dead date for completing all its Parliamentary candidate selections by September 23rd. This is the starting day of the Labour conference which could mean we get a "go back to your constituencies and prepare for more Government" type speech from Brown to the newly selected faithful.
It's worth noting as well that apparently election spending limits say that parties are only allowed to spend approximately £19million in the 365 days leading up to polling day though. Brown could still leave it until spring next year gambling on the Tories spending too much money and squeezing their ability to spend big in the immediate run up to the polls.
