There is an interesting commentary piece in this morning's Times by Tim hames which argues that spin really has ended under Brown and that "[n]o longer will journalists be able to declare that “ministers will say” or “ministers will do” with the confidence of oracles in the ancient world." It is, says Hames, the end of easy leak ride for journalists.
If that is though true, then what, as Benedict Brogan pointed out is this in last weeks Guardian? If that isn't an example fo leaking ot the press before you go into Parliament and make your announcmeent then frankly I don't know what is.

Tim Hames is hopelessly biased towards NuLabour. I've just written to him about his clumsy attempt, today, to spin that Brown is ending spin. Hames should be writing for the Daily Mirror.
