A rather odd, and frankly disturbing press release has just come into my inbox from those nice people at the Health and Safety Executive. Apparently, Bob the Builder is taking time out of his live show 'Build it with Bob', at the Science Museum on Tuesday 10 July to show support for the Health and Safety Executives' ladder safety campaign. Now let's be honest here, but when was the last time you saw a toddler working on a building site? Exactly! Makes you wonder what exactly the HSE are getting at by using Bob the Builder huh? Given we don't see toddlers on building sites then are they just, perchance, suggesting that people who work on building sites have the mental age of toddlers?
There are two conclusions to draw really. Either (a) they're paving the way for a return to Dickensian child labour laws, or (b) they think all builders are thick as pig shit. Can we patronise them? Yes we can!
* Yes I know that the cement mixer is called Dizzy you prospective smart arses. I have a two year old.
