Civil Service takes up "treehugging"

If there's one thing I love about this Government (yes I am not all negative), it's their ability to do things that are beyond satire. Take for example the decision of the Government Office North West (that's one of those EU regional quangos that you didn't vote for or get asked if you wanted incidnetally) to introduce a recycling scheme at people's desk where the cardboard recyling collector is called a "Treehugger".

Apparently the GONW is the largest organisation/company to use Treehuggers. What this means in actuality is that in order to encoruage people to recycle their paper and save the trees they've paid a company lots of money to kill some trees and make cardboard recepticles for the recycleable paper. Bunch of tree hugging hippys!
