According to reports in the papers, the Liberal Democract MP, Norman Baker, has made a formal complaint to the police about John Prescott.Baker believes that Prescott committed an offence under the Prevention of Corruption Acts 1906 and 1916 when he visited Philip Anschutz's ranch. The act states that Ministers should not accept "hospitality or consideration received from a person or organisation which has obtained or is trying to obtain an official contract".
The same team investigating the possible sale of peerages is apparently taking the matter "seriously".
