Petition fail... will no one support Brown?

How sweet. Someone has set up a counter-petition to the one calling for Brown to resign on the Downing Street website. The petition asking Brown to resign currently has 20,395 signatures whilst the counter-petition has a grand total of errr six, five of which are joke signatures.

This could turn into a nice little signature race though!

  1. Gordon the Moron would have been a better name choice than 'Gordon is a moron,' though there will probably quite a few variations on this theme.

Secondly, how about a third petition for woolly people who can't quite make up their minds ... yet?

  3. If that was replicated in a General Election, Brown would be forced to emigrate! Love it.

  12. Just the one petition at that URL, I think. The 'advisers' deleted a lot of names overnight. I know, because I have signed under several names ;-) yesterday and today using different email addresses -- and bookmarked it and kept all the No 10 emails. (Sad, moi?) It keeps changing. Lots of fun. We're keeping someone in the War Room quite busy deleting and relaunching. Emblematic of the twilight of Brown's career, come to think of it.

It's a reference to a song by Jilted John. Thinking about it, the song could be used in some kind of anti-Lbaour viral campaign. The chorus I think just goes "Gordon is a moron" over and over again.

  14. I stand corrected. There are indeed two idiots about. Must go. Lots of names to make up.

  16. They refused to accept mine, perhaps it was because I don't even look like Quasimodo.

  17. Surely it's a piss-take?

    The proposer says:

'In his own opinion we have never had a better and more competent Prime Minister, and he should have maximum support to continue.'

Don't you think the 'In his own opinion' bit gives the game away?

  18. Think it has been taken down, couldn't find it, or anything like it, just now.

  19. I'm surprised the real petition hasn't received a similar backlash from the Labour trolls
