Reading personal email in the Home Office

Back in February, the Lib Dem MP, Paul Burstow asked the Home Office if they would publish the scorecards for the How Safe is your home online questionaire that it hosts. The Home Office duly obliged and placed a copy of all the screenshots in the Commons library.

Clearly no one bothered checking the entire document properly, and the civil servant that did the work may not have had sufficient coffee or was suitably bored whilst doing the task.

You see, if you go through the PDF of screenshots by the time he reached the end, Ben Johnson - for that was his name - was also interested in his personal email and searching for arnica.

    whats interesting is the Home Office doesn't use Mozilla, the POISE system still uses IE6

    At least he's using Firefox. He's enhanced Home Office IT resilience 100% just like that.

    (Am now ready to be shot down by better knowing IT professionals and Mac fanbois.)
