Webcameron Rejects

Did you know there was a forum out there for people who post on Webcameron and either get moderated out or just think that it doesn't engage properly? No neither did I until now.

Perhaps in a way it's a measure of WebCameron's moderate success that a forum for the users that is less controlled exists, whilst at the same time it also suggests that the project has gone off the rails of it's original purpose?

Webcameron was exciting and unique - but it lost the plot. David Cameron kept the dialogue going - but his website admin team lacked the creativity to keep it interesting.

There is a large Webcameron community who are from all walks of life, all political persuasions. On Webcameron, we were able to work through our thoughts and ideas with some interesting discussions and debates - and David Cameron would respond to us on a regular basis. It was brilliant. But it's over now. DC hung us out to dry. LoL :)

The new Webcameron site that recently merged with conservatives.com lacks a forum and it's now essentially a propaganda site. It's boring.

It's very sad that DC couldn't find the time to say good-bye to us properly - and perhaps thank us for our contributions.

However, 'Webcameron Rejects' rocks.

Merry Christmas.

Yes.

In fact, I think His Daveness even mentioned it in one of his video posts once.

Yes, machiavelli's understudy - David Cameron responded by video on the old Webcameron forum to KozmicStu - saying he must visit 'Webcameron Rejects' to have a look at the site!! :)

NOW might be a good time for DC to do that! LoL

I'd agree with every word that has been said here. I joined Webcameron on the day it was created (30 September 2006) and am very sad that the open blog has disappeared - that was what made the website.

Now don't get me wrong - I'm a strong supporter of David Cameron and want people to "vote Dave" into Number 10... I want us to be spared another 5 years of Brown and Labour. But it was a huge mistake to allow the website to gradually dwindle.

A lot of people were calling for a makeover and an end to the oppressive moderator régime, but it looks as though the powers that be completely misinterpretated us. :( If they have any sense they will give us back our open forums.

Little did we realise how appropriate the name 'Webcameron Rejects' was to become.

Though I can just about understand why DC did what he did (malice aforethought) the discourtesy will not be forgiven.

But much, much worse is to use the name to advertise the Conservative home site. As the taxpayer paid for his site I hope he has the wisdom to pay the money back.
