Brown airbrushes out his disasters

Should anyone wish to have a good laugh on this utterly pointless day back in the office for the shortest working week of the year, then I strongly recommend having a look at the review of Gordon Brown's year on Downing Street website. Pay particular attention to September, October, November and December which make no references to the nightmares he's has faced.

There is no mention of "changes" to inheritance tax which he tried to hail as significant. Nor is there mention of the changes to Capital Gains Tax which have caused so many problems. Nor is there a mention of his desire to map out his vision for the country that we heard so much about.

There is no mention that the tripartite system of banking failed to stop a run on a British bank, resulting in the taxpayer propping it up to the tune of over £20 billion. It gets merely a brief mention in December about how the economy is strong and he's going to save the day.

Don't expect to see anything about the Government's inability to get its own immigration figures right, resulting in correction after correction. As for the loss of 25 million personal bank details from Her Majestys Revenue and Customs it never happened. Repeat after me. It. Never. Happened.

Perhaps it will win an award for fiction.
The poor deluded fool lies even to himself something to do with lying in the dark for 6 months.

If you can't understand obvious typos then you might as well fuck off now.

The first thing that popped into my head when reading this was the pictures from my history book in which Stalin airbrushed Trotsky, Rykov and others out of their positions at parades in Red Square. And the Great Soviet Encyclopedia where the article on Beria, after his disgrace, was replaced by a long one on the Bering Sea.

I know comparing Broon to Stalin isn't exactly original, but he does beg for it with stunts like this. In the meantime, of course the taxpayer is paying for this crude piece of propaganda?

If you repeat something three times - then it becomes true. Right?

LoL :)

Gordon Brown is in lalaland.

The fellows not daft, despite what you lot think. Like you would list all the bits that went wrong, I doubt it. What Gordon can be proud of is ten years when the Nasty Party were kept in their kennel. You know Gordon will win in a couple of years or so don't you ? We the voters don't trust Cameron, the guys a bully, and a toff. We'll stick with what we know, heck a guys' allowed a mistake or two in ten years.

He's been compared to Stalin for a reason you know. ;)

Airbrushing history, but who reads it, us who know better on the whole I guess (or does anyone know who visits No10?), if so does it work - not a chance: http://darrenlilleker.blogspot.com/2007/12/gordon-brown-as-i-remembered-it.html

No, the Nasty Party has been in Government since 97, Mike.

Mike 14:21 - "The chap's not daft". No, but he's not quite right. And whatever ANYONE says, the past few month's have been one disaster after another. For the No. 10 website to pretend that anything other than that is the case simply states again that Gordon Brown thinks us all idiots, and not worthy of him.

The sooner he's run out of town the better, and ZaNu Labour PF. And yes, I am another lifelong Labour voter, 1970 until Iraq. Never again.

There's a significant possibility that the HMRC loss never happened. You know the old one that "It's in the post"?
