Hemming declares but with no betting price?

It's interesting to note that last night on Channel 4 News, the Lib Dem MP John Hemming declared that he was running for the leadership of the Lib Dems to Cathy Newman. He said, and I paraphrase from memory, that he was the man to lead the party and he was the man that could beat Cameron and Brown.

Even though he said this, he has no price on Betfair's market for the leadership. Does this mean the wisdom of crowds is so wise it knows there is no point?

Update: He has appeared on BetFair now as has Susan Kramer.

Some *pundit* on a Midlands bulletin board claimed that Coral gave him 66 to 1 on Hemming yesterday. I think they'll give you odds on the Cheeky Girls too.

John's now been added to Betfair, but has no odds against his name.

Latest statement from John "On canvassing a fifth of the parliamentary party I would get one nomination. That - extrapolated - would imply I would get five nominations which is two short of the seven required.

As a consequence I will continue arguing for my position statement, but logically need to consider whose campaign to support."
