God knows the truth of the matter but the McCanns are official suspects in the disappearance, possible murder of a child. So what is Gordon Brown doing allowing Clarence Mitchell to go off and be their spin doctor for a while? Doesn't anyone else find this weird?
Anonymous - No, they're not. The Portuguese police have already said they don't really have diddly to charge them.
The Portuguese police chief heading up the Marx Brothers investigation is going to be brought up on charges of bringing similar phony charges (resulting in the imprisonment of the mother) against a Portuguese mother of a missing 8-year old daughter who he accused of murdering her. She didn't have the worldwide publicity, education, contacts or nous that the McCanns have, so she has been in prison for the last eight years. There is now a move to clear her name and nail this insane police chief. If you are too inept to solve the case, nail the mother and lock 'er up! File closed!
I still don't think Gordon Brown should be releasing taxpayer-paid public servants to be working on a private case - but the McCanns are not official suspects.
