Lib Dems "rebellion" as senior MP calls Campbell a "liar"

This morning's Sunday Telegraph is reporting a senior Lib Dem saying that the Parliamentary party is in "outright rebellion" and "absolutely livid" about Campbell's private discussions and possible deals with Gordon Brown. Apparently one senior Lib Dem, in a meeting of the Parliamentary party openly called Campbell a "liar".

There will of course be many that will portray the forthcoming by-elections as a test for David Cameron, but it seems clear that the real test is going to be for Campbell. If the Lib Dems find themselves pushed into third place at Sedgefield and Ealing Southall it will not be good for Campbell.

True, there will be those that say it will not be good for the Tories either if they come third in both. Currently we're third in Ealing and second in Sedgefield, but it's worth nothing that in both the difference in vote is little more than a thousand. They'll be interesting to watch.
