Brown to scrap regional assemblies

Great news, Brown via Darling is keeping his promise about giving power back to the British people and plans to scrap unelected regional assemblies. Their powers will apparently transfer to regional quangos instead!... oh!

If you're wondering why, it's apparently because the unelected assemblies kept on blocking Labour's home building plans. These unelected busy bodies were just getting in the way, so it's better to replace them with more compliant unelected busy bodies you see.

Don't worry, you'll have a say through citizen juries though. They'll not actually listen or act on your views, but you will be able to express them.

Says it all really doesn't it? The Viceroy of the Scottish Raj in England gets his governor-general to abolish the English 'devolved' bodies that were supposed to mitigate the West Lothian Question.
