Peter Who? - Part II

As I mentioned yesterday, pretty much none of the MSM bothered to pay attention to Peter Hain when he said the Government had failed on criminal justice policy over ten years. Thanks to a transcript from icWales taken from Question Time, it looks like his fellow contenders in the election he has lost don't think much of him either:
Audience Member: Recognising excellence in others is fundamental to good leadership. Can you name the greatest political achievement of one of your co-runners?
Peter Hain: I think that Hilary [Benn] has done a fantastic job of International Development. I think he has mobilised the world and mobilised Britain behind our policies.
Hilary Benn: I think what Harriet (Harman) has done in arguing the case for better childcare, improving the position of women including in the criminal justice system has shown how politics has changed in our country, and we need more of it.
David Dimbleby, presenter: And would she have your second vote?
Hilary Benn: No, I’ve already said, and it’s a very difficult choice, that if I had a second vote, if I weren’t standing, I would vote for Alan (Johnson)... but I think all my fellow candidates have something to offer.
Harriet Harman: I’m sorry I can’t reciprocate to Hilary despite his many virtues, but I would say that Jon Cruddas has done a huge amount putting the question of housing on our agenda for the future. I think that we should have a big pledge on many more council houses being built... I would say that that is a lot down to the role John has played.
David Dimbleby: Will you cast [your vote] for him as number two?
Harriet Harman: No, because I’m not tempting fate, and, as Hillary Clinton said, I’m in it to win it.
Hazel Blears: I’m going to say that I think Alan (Johnson)’s greatest achievement... are the measures he introduced at the DTI around maternity pay, paternity pay, flexible working, full-time rights for part-time workers. What that shows you is that you don’t have to be a woman to bring in all these rights for people at work. I think that’s a fantastic achievement.
Alan Johnson: We didn’t work this out beforehand but I think Hazel has been a tremendous chair of the party.
Jon Cruddas: I would go back to Alan actually, even though I would vote for Harriet second, and that was the way he carried through differential top-up fees. I disagreed every step of the way, but the skill by which he took it through the House of Commons beggared belief at times. It was a remarkable achievement.
David Dimbleby: And none of you said Peter Hain and Northern Ireland.
Peter Hain: There you are.
Audience Member: (shouts) It wasn’t him.
David Dimbleby: It wasn’t him, you say. All right. That’s all we’ve got time for.
He does have a very good tan though!

And now he's going to get his arse tanned too ... Mr GuF is insisting that Benn bigged up Johnson for the Top Up fees thing ... but only Cruddas does that in this transcript. Has GuF lost the plot?
