More BNP nomination form problems?

After the furore that surrounded the Lib Dem councillor in Darlington who signed a BNP nomination form, more news around the country has suggested that some rather dodgy practices are going on when it comes to BNP forms. Apparently, a Lib Dem councillor has discovered that a nomination form for the BNP's Zane Patchell (candidate for the Lozells and East Handsworth ward in Birmingham) has a signature on it belonging to a Jamaican women who says it's fraudulent.

It was also FOUND, by the same Lib Dem councillor, that other signatures from ethnic minority voters had been put on BNP forms. It's interesting that a Lib Dem should be investigating these issues after the Darlington Incident. We're one to be horribly party political one might think the Lib Dems were trying to find evidence that could show by implication that their man in Darlington was innocently duped.

Duped? Maybe. Stupid? Definitely.

Duped or Dim?

Make up your own mind with this quote from Darlington's Northern Echo

Last night, Coun Jones said: "A friend had asked my wife if she would nominate somebody to stand. She wasn't there, so I signed the form for him.

"I don't know him and I didn't notice he was standing for the BNP at the time. I thought he was an independent candidate.

"I should have checked it and I feel livid now because I do not support the BNP whatsoever."

Not duped. Just stupid, and possibly er too liberal for own good. We had a Lib Dem on doorsteps round here saying she wouldn't mind if BNP-ers got elected so that she could have a jolly good debate with them in the Council Chamber! Too late mate. Stop them getting a mandate. Lib Dems are crap when it comes to both the BNP and using communalistic tactics themselves.

In Oldham and Saddleworth a few years ago they were opposing a mosque's planning one side of the Leeds Road and in otherwise identical leaflets supporting it the other side.

By a fluke these had racist and muslim voters respectively. they told Woolas they would say just about anything anyone wanted to hear to get elected. they have NO politics at this level, if they do at any level really.

They can say anything. Wherever they go up here in the North soon develops a BNP problem. And they do work together on stuff.

Bizarre electoral practice seems to be commonplace today- see href="http://vickyford.blogspot.com/2007/04/local-elections.html"> Vicky Ford's Blog for a hilarious story about one of our local Labour party candidates
