Putting funding money into perspective

Over the past three years, the Department for Culture, Media and Sport has spent £236,697 on external recruitment (last year was the most costly at just short of £140,000). That's nearly as much money as is being given to each region with a view to setting up a "network of regional training schools for school cooks". Put's that funding into perspective really.
