Quote of the Day

"If you take out uncovered meat and place it outside on the street, or in the garden, or in the park, or in the backyard without cover, and the cats come to eat it ... whose fault is it, the cats' or the uncovered meat? The uncovered meat is the problem. If she was in her room, in her home, in her hijab, no problem would have occurred." - Sheik Taj al Hilali (Australia's most senior Muslim cleric)

Good opinion piece on it from The Australian here.

So he is saying that Muslim men (or men in general) have as much control over their actions as cats? Or did I misunderstand something?

Well this just about says it all about Muslim men's attitude to women, and it's not very flattering to the other men either. Don't know who to feel sorriest for. In any case, I note that cats are generally not bothered by the bin-liner covering the meat, they tend to rip it open anyway to get at the goodies inside - perhaps there's a moral in this for the Sheik to contemplate?
