Architect of US child sex offender laws resigns over child sex offences

A Florida congressman, who last month celebrated the Senate passing his Bill overhauling child sex offender registration commonly known as the "Foley Child Safety" Bill, has had to resign after being caught out emailing and txt'ing a school boy in an inapproriate manner. I'm not going to reproduce the txt conversation, however ABC News have published it here, and a US blogger has published the email here. I imagine Foley is wishing he'd been a little less vociferous about pushing through his legislation now.
