I had a similar bet last season with a mate who supports Sunderland (he's from there, he has no choice), but given that he's a bit short - in both senses - and the Mackems performed so abjectly I let him off. How about that for 'compassionate conservatism'?
And I'm the son of a third generation WHU fan and grew up in West Essex, so I had no choice either.
