All change please?

Via Wikipedia,
An academy in the education system in England is a school that is directly funded by central government and is independent of local government control. source

Grant-maintained schools were state schools in England and Wales between 1988 and 1998 that had opted out of local government control, being funded directly by a grant from central government. source
Labour scrapped the latter and introduced the former. Isn't now the time for The Coalition to scrap the former and introduce the latter.

Square the circle. Plus ├ža change!
