Great Political Campaigning Dilemmas

Following on from Tom Harris' post about the joy of canvassing, I have a dilemma that stems back to the days when I was politically active for the Tories which I would love to know others opinions on.

When delivering leaflet, and you see signs that say "No free newspapers" what do you do? Do you get semantic and say "well it doesn't say "leaflet" so this is OK? What about when your leaflet is the size of a newspaper and kind of looks like a newspaper - the Tory "In Touch", the Labour "Rose", or the Lib Dem "Focus" can often be like that.

What is the correct etiquette?
