Conservative Home have launched a site attacking the BNP called NothingBritish.com and have done the following video as well.
The odious white power socialists are hoping they'll get some more votes in a few weeks, so it will be interesting to see whether a campaign like this work. Pointing out the criminal connections of the BNP is worthwhile, but then I imagine some would say the rest are a bunch of crooks too... are they convicted murderers and rapists though?
People should think very closely at what exactly they are voting for in parties such as UKIP and BNP come next month.
Although mainstream politics has let us down, people shouldn't make hasty decisions as UKIP are a one trick party. And the BNP are just out for trouble in any shape or form.
And I can imagine that had the BNP had a MP in the UK parliament, they would be troughing as well - despite their pigs in the trough campaign.
The mistake they are doing is in attacking the persons (especially nowadays as they themselves have been shown to be morally pretty repugnant) and not the policies, because I don't think people realise how socialist the BNP is.
That was the mistake done in France, and the result was an increase in support for the FN.
"p.s. you know that Guido's father is an Indian immigrant yes?"
I thought 'Guido' was a nom-de-keyboard? As for Paul Staines, I know virtually nothing about him. I did read though a story about him having some dealings with the BNP some time ago which he subsequently attempted to hush up. My point being the implication that they shared his right-wing views (and hence contradicting your 'socialist' tag which I know right-wingers love to claim about the BNP).
As for their manifesto, I'm afraid life is too short to read crap like that. I will have to take your word for it that it contains socialist policies and ideas. Do they really call for common ownership of the means of production? I would hazard a guess that any elements that sound vaguely left-ish are simply strategic efforts to appeal to disillusioned white working-class voters who might otherwise be natural Labourites. The core of the BNP, I thought, was about racism and anti-immigration, both of which are anathema to socialists. But I have read these kinds of debates before, so I genuinely am not trying to start one again as it will go absolutely nowhere - truly a dialogue of the deaf!
"Do they really call for common ownership of the means of production?"
They call for the Co-operative ownership of business, in addition to the end of large supermarket. The introduction of protectionist policies such as bans on foreign imports. In agriculture their policy is akin to a collectivization policy.
Of course they're also white power nuts too, which is why I always call them white power socialists. Incidentally though, how is racism anathema to socialists? Stalin called for "Socialism in One Country" whilst overseeing pogroms against the Jews, and the liquidation of the kulaks (note here class was used as a cover for racism against the non-Russian agricultural population of the Soviet Union).
Just one addition, I know of a local CLP that is racist to the core. It has asain member as token members but behind closed doors regularly calls them pakis and the like.
The fact is, left and right are defined much more on economy than cultural attitudes toward race. You can be a racist and be left or right wing. It is not a value mutually exclusive to one side.
Some interesting points, Dizzy, but, as I said, I'm not looking to start this debate again. For me, racism is incompatible with socialist principles (although I concede, as your points imply, socialist practice is not always what it should be). I won't say anymore!
If the BNP were standing in my area I would vote for them, as it is I have UKIP to make a protest with, I have never voted anything but Tory in the past. I want to give the main parties a kicking & if voting for the BNP or UKIP makes them angry then they can join the club!!!
You don't need to make a protest vote and you don't need to vote BNP the logical alternative to all the other parties is Libertas.eu. If you want your vote to count on 4th June 09 then they are the logical choice. If you want and believe in freedom of the individual, democracy, accountability and transparancey in the EU Libertas.eu is for you. check us out at wwwlibertas.eu
From what I can see of the video, from what I can see, the entire thrust of the argument is that denying Ben his Britishness is evil. That's it. Nothing else. No definition of "Britishness" whatsoever. How pathetic. It's just typical of the prevailing media view that anyone can be what they want, do what they want and if you don't have the same world view, you are evil. Hence their support for homosexual marriage, pornography, moral relativism, abortions, promiscuity etc. Yet if I don't agree with them, I should feel guilty about that. Likewise, they seek to deny the indigenous people of this country the right to define THEIR OWN identity, instead insisting that ANYONE can be British (which they define in some airy-fairy multicultural manner or by the fact that someone has a passport). The reality is that Ben has his own identity and can decide for himself who he is. But by the same token, the native population can decide for themselves who they are, without supposed Conservatives trying to guilt trip them into accepting their own nothingness. An ethnic group has the right to exclusivity otherwise it accepts its own destruction. I wish Ben all the best with his life, but niether Ben, nor the entire non-indigenous population of the UK are a reason to destroy the indigenous population (which is what they are trying to achieve by mish-mashing everyone).
We are all indigenous to the planet Earth, no one is indigenous to a particular part of the planet, we are all immigrants and mongrels anyone who say's different is living on planet politics where real world matters are alien.
Labour, Conservative and Lib Dem are uniting to say how terrible it will be if, as a result of the present revelations, the "minority" "extreme" (these terms are conflated) parties should gain support. It rather like the disdain shown toward bloggers by journalists of the press, who are of course in charge of the news. What is wrong with minority parties getting more support? Greens, Ukip, BNP, Libertas, Libertarians, etc./ None of them is going to take charge of the country, and the old parties need to be taught a lesson; they have no right to govern us.
Oh here we go, little Tommy Miller is here with faux outrage and little concept based equation. Strange though that for someone who boasts of their love of neo-marxist theory that they would be so woefully incapable of thinking out of the box on issues like this. Then again they have fallen for the pseudoscience of material history so perhaps I shouldn't be suprised. History though is the key to getting why Tom is so hopelessly wrong.
Internationalism and solidarity have their origins in their origins in Marx's work thanks to phrases like 'workers of the world unite'. Historically speaking this would have been a targeted call at whites only. Also from a purist ideological point this wouldn't have included non-white populations because they hadn't managed to get themselve through the dialectic to a sufficiently advanced point.
As such there is nothing in the origins of socialist theory which precludes it being able to have racism as a core element. A good example of this being brought about historically was Bukharin's 'Socialism in One Country' thesis which happily saw pogroms against the Jews and non-Russians slaughtered on dubious ground where 'class' was used as a sheild for racism. However, I digress.
The BNPs policies are socialist in their origin with the exception of immigration which is nationalist in its origin. One might even call them Nationalist Socialists but the names already bagged by others I think. One things for sure, they're not fascists. A read of their manifesto, which is easy to do but no socialist ever seems to want to do it, will illustrate they have a Bukharinist worldview.
What's a disgrace here then is not that I've used the phrase 'white power socialist' its that you Tom are too bloody stupid to realise what the BNP are. They are not a far right party. Racism is neither right or left wing because it exists independently of purist theory. There are two solidly good reasons to be anti-bnp. First their white power loons. Second the rest of their platform is inspired b y the very worst socialism that has been tried and failed with over 40 million deaths.
This film may have had some credibility if it had addressed some real issues, instead of putting up a caricature of pure innocence.
Why no mention of the all too frequent stabbings and muggings or 7/7? Things real people are concerned about.
Expect to see more of this "straw man" stuff leading up to the elections. Why are the establishment afraid of open debate with the BNP? they just smear them at every opportunity without giving them a right to reply. Take them on face to face, like Andrew Neil did.

Gotta love the 'credible' accent of the voiceover.
"I say, my good man, once you've finished cleaning that moat, there's a little something else I'd like you to do.."
Unthinkable to vote for the BNP.
Worse than being racist. They're...
Socialist - UGH!
I'll take the BNP any day while we have people like Adams and Macguiness at the heart of Government and spending my taxes.
Makes me want to cast my vote for the BNP even more now the Europhile tories say don't vote BNP.
Socialist? Don't think so. Anyway, didn't Guido have some dealings with the BNP a while back - and I'd hardly call him socialist.
Suggest you read their manifesto.
p.s. you know that Guido's father is an Indian immigrant yes?

My but the BNP makes you all talkative.
Still if you want to edge the anglo whites out of their homeland thats the way you go
Well said, Anonymous @ 19:33
you only have to consider who is telling us not to vote for the bnp to know why we should at least consider doing so

Would it be possible to post the criminal convictions of Conservative memebers on this site? In the interests of true debate?
"white power socialists"
Therefore:
"internationalism+solidarity=white power".
Idiocy.
Your attempts to turn an anti-BNP campaign into a campaign against socialism is a disgrace.
