Labour MP insults Essex inhabitants as wide boys and slags?

Just imagine if a Tory MP uttered these words in Parliament when talking about participation in the Olympics. Then just imagine what the instant reaction would be from Labour.
David Taylor (North-West Leicestershire) (Lab/Co-op): Will the Minister care to deny the scurrilous rumours that, to encourage the people of Essex to be more involved, it is intended that the sports of putting the medallion and throwing the white high heels should be included?
Now far be it from me to point out that David Taylor represents a county north of the Watford Gap and thus probably keeps whippets , wears a peak cap and says "ay'up"; but seriously, if a Tory MP started pushing stereotypes in the House there would be all sort of outrage from the Government's side.

Coalville is north of the Watford Gap, but not by an awful lot.

Plus he's stepping down at the nextr election, so what's he care who he insults?

I know David Taylor, he is an old communist who chickened out off standing at the next election. He also has Coalville in his constituncy which is a shocking place. Glass houses spring to mind

Yes Dizzy, but he's a Labour man so is incapable of being prejudiced don't you know.

He is a disgrace to British politics and clearly isn't comfortable enough with himself in order to make constructive comments in the House rather than trying to get a laugh.

A better way to look at this is: "wouldn't it be nice if we could return to the days of light-hearted fun-poking without people everywhere pretending to be offended when, actually, they're just keen to be the centre of attention".
Up with this sort of thing.

Harsh, but fair.

Is he a friend of Dorothy?

Looks like he is throwing a gang sign with his Beadle hand.

I despise Labour Mp's so much I wish the Muslims would sort them out.

They don't have whippets in Leicestershire. It's not far enough north to be interesting.
