Has the curse of Gordon struck again?

The Curse of Gordon or Jonah Brown has been rather well documented by Guido but I fear he may have missed one. On December 15th Brown went to the Palestine Trade and Investment Forum in London and said
"Let us seize the opportunity we have before us to make 2009 the Middle East year of peace"
Doomed by words in a matter of days?

Gordon Brown to create 100,000 jobs under 'anti-recession' plans 04 JANUARY 2009

Mr Brown is studying a scheme run by Nissan, the car manufacturer, which aims to avoid redundancies by the Government providing central funds to move staff on to part time work and use the rest of the time for training.
