Brown said nothing

Quite literally, all he kept saying were the words "doing nothing". Is that the extent of his brieifngs prior to PMQs? "Don't worry Gordon, if in doubt just slap the "doing nothing" line out, the more we sya, the more people will believe it". It wouldn't have happened with Blair.

One thing is for sure, you can really tell that Brown has zero experience of the real non-political world. Unlike Blair who had to become a barrister first and learn to think on his feet, Brown is nothing but a robot that has been fed one brief and boy is he going to stick to it.

Give him his due - he did actually answer ONE question!

I think it's the first straight answer he's given in PMQs since 2007....

Didn't Brown spend a few years as a journalist? As opposed to David who has never had a proper job.

I don't think either of them at that in touch but then again I tend to believe that Gordon's background is much more typical than Cameron.

BTW they were both rubbish today.

Brown is totally fucking delusional.

He is gone in the head.

Anon 14.20 (aka New Labour troll)

From memory Brown was given a journo job as a sort of sinecure on the BBC Scotland - so what's the relevance of that to running anything at all?

Well, clearly based on the experience of the last 11 years, bugger all.

Face it sunshine, the man is an incompetent. Being incompetent is faintly forgiveable, because sacking him will sort that, and he may just be ignorant, which can be dealt with by re-training.

But what is totally unforgiveable is that he is fundamentally deceitful. That behaviour trait is entirely down to him. It is a choice. You can lie or you can tell the truth. He lies. Constantly.

Sixty-two thousand four hundred repetitions make one truth.

Saying something you don't agree with isn't trolling, I vote UKIP so have no time for Labour.

But, the Tories here aren't convincing me they have any better ideas all they seem to be doing is impersonating Private Frazer "we're doomed".

If anyone thinks when David gets in he'll be more open they are deluded.

How the fuck can Brown's background be more typical than Cameron's?
What is a typical background?
Do please enlighten us all.

"Unlike Blair who had to become a barrister first and learn to think on his feet,....."

I was at Bar School at the same time as Blair and can confirm what those who saw him actually on his feet in practice, which is that he was not exactly the greatest advocate since Marshall Hall. In fact he was a complete dud, which is why he went into politics as a failed Barrister and Lady MacBeth stayed at the Bar (where she was an average performer, not necessarily expected to take silk if her name had been Jane Smith and she was unknown to the powers that be).

That said he is definitely brighter than McStalin whose reputation for cleverness seems entirely misplaced to me.

Luckily, he has done away with Boom and Bust.
Otherwise we might be in trouble.

"Gordon's background is much more typical than Cameron." How, exactly?

"Brown has zero experience of the real non-political world"

Unlike Dave, of course: Eton, Oxford (taking in the Bullingdon club), PR for a TV company, political researcher, MP. Mmmm.

I agree Brown was useless at PMQs but I'm not sure that's very much to do with his lack of 'real world' experience. He's just crap! I think if Dave had a bit more guile, and didn't come across as quite such a smug public schoolboy, he might actually destroy Brown in the Commons.
