Public against Brown's spending splurge

The Taxpayers Alliance have a poll commissioned by ComRes that shows that public are not at all happy with the idea of Brown borrowing more and spending it all. What's more they think tax cuts would be a better way to combat the recession too.

As Mark Wallace from the TPA writes on the Coffee House blog,

Far from being the pork-barrel big spenders that the Government imagined, the public are clearly tired of glitzy, big ticket projects. People would rather have money in their pockets now to help keep their heads above water than yet more large public projects, with all the waste, delays and mismanagement they inevitably entail.

Absolutely on the money I'd say.
