On a lighter note....

I reckon this girl is in with a chance of winning this years X Factor. She isn't the best singer in the world, she makes mistakes and hit the odd bad note too, but for some reason (at least for me) it doesn't seem to matter.

Hmm. So that's this X Factor programme, then. I've seen it listed...

The lady (Diana Vickers, apparently) certainly does have something, but those mistakes will matter if her career is to go anywhere.

Some voice coaching/training and that name could become fairly big in the future (though I'd suggest marketing her under the name "Diana Vee", personally).

Hmm. Aesthetically she really isn't my type (big hair, too much make-up and wearing a tent doesn't really do it...).

And musically, I much prefer this:

Being a very attractive woman helps, I suppose.

Hmm. I know that the X Factor is largely high budget karaoke, but did she have to be voice coached to sound *exactly* like Dolores O'Riordan?

I prefer Laura. I think she a little bit more accessible than quirky Diana. Both equally likeable, and a bit leftfield for this programme that usually shifts towards the more traditional 'pop star' sound.

won't win too niche for mainstream sat night viewing.

Shw will struggle during disco week etc

So what is it about the 17 year old school girl that you like then?

Don't get taken in - would anyone pay good money for a CD of that caterwauling. There are plenty of musicians with considerably more talent and who have worked considerably harder who are much more deserving of the limelight.

She's my favourite too, but my favourites never seem to do that well, so I suspect she won't go all the way. I think JLS will be popular with the mainly female voters.

Where is Dizzy? Has he run off with Diana?

The missus says she sounds like the lead singer form The Cranberries

Funny but I said that about Dolores on the night when I watched.
