Technically, yes it is. Practically? Probably not.
More phrases like, "we will do whatever is necessary" will no doubt be forthcoming.
Oh, God. Thanks for reminding me we have one of those National Economic Council things again. They worked so well last time. Should be handy for ordering British Lloydland about, I suppose.

It's not just McNulty. He has two deputies - MPs Karen Buck and Clive Efford, whose role is to "liaise with and support the work of regional ministers and national ministers", according to a Labour press release. Oh yes, and to "help coordinate the Labour Party's campaigns in regions and nations, with a special emphasis on economic issues".
It's a blatantly party-political role masquerading as a method of giving "regions" like London a larger voice in the Government.
