Fraud by staff at the Driving Standards Agency

It looks like the Driving Standards Agency has some sort of problem in its recruitment process if figures released today by the Department of Transport are anything to go by. Apparently over the last three years they have had an incident of civil servants defrauding the Department at an average rate of one per month.

Sadly the figures do not provide any details on the waht the defrauding actually was. One presumes it was probably something like filling out dodgy expenses claims perhaps? Charging Starbucks to the taxpayer? Who knows!

Given that the DSA has 2,700 employess the rate of fraud is (alas) nothing too exceptional I'm afraid.
