Searching takes a siesta!

Ola! It ain't half hot mum! A quick message from Andalucia where the sun is shining and it is a glorious morning. I just wanted to draw people's attention to the marvellous innovattion the country gets from the Department for Innovation, Universities and Skills.

If you take a look at the site you may notice that it lacks a basic search facility, which has been a simple implementation on a website for, hmmmm... let me see, at least 10 years? When asked about this, David Lammy (for it is he) said "DIUS is currently working with our supplier to implement a basic search facility on our existing corporate website".

Bet they get charged the earth too! Now, back to the pool!

They could put a quick Google site search box on there in about 5 minutes.

But then the consultancy couldn't charge a vast implimentation fee for doing that.

DfT has long had a search engine on its web site, and its rubbish (or at least was still like that about a month ago) - Google is the way to find stuff on their site, but recently they stopped stonewalling and agreed that they had better fix their problem. Anyone in the public sector heard of Quality Control?
