OK< so it;s only Alex Hilton saying it, and he may just have been punked in a "Thatcher is Dead" type way, but according to his post of Labour Home, "rumour has it Jack Straw and David Miliband are considering leadership bids". Should the rumour be anymore than that it wouldn't surprise me.
THe thing that Brown must be realising this morning is that he's not going to be a long-term Prime Minister no matter how many "long-term decisions for the future" he might think he has made. A decade desperately wanting the Crown, and then a short-lived reign.
He really is Macbeth, to Blair's Duncan. Dunsinane Forest (the blonde mop of Johnson) has now moved the question that just remains is who will kill Macbeth and end the 15 year journey that led to power and glory but will end in tragedy.
My prediction is that the Labour Party will not commit fratricide. Instead it will just squabble and fall apart as each faction tries to position itself, and its man, for the coming "morning after the General Election".
The one thing Labour does not want - and it should be looking at the history of the Tories on this - is to go into the next election and win it with a tiny majority like John Major did. If it does it can kiss goodbye to power for a very long time.

No matter how you look at it, New Labour is finished; it is all over. The key for the Tories now, and Cameron in particular, is how to pace the two years until an election. He has to get this right because Labour will recover somewhat.
One other matter, I thought Portillo's performance on Thursday night (Friday AM) was a disgrace. He is so bitter that he is not part of the Tory revival, and of course sore that he never got the leadership.
Full marks to Cameron and Boris. They have both played a blinder over the past weeks.
"..15 year journey that led to power and glory but will end in tragedy"
Not quite, Dizzy. The journey led to power for sure, but no glory, and the tragedy is happening now, as he twists helplessly in the wind. The general election will be a mercy killing.
"Fear not, till Birnam wood
Do come to Dunsinane:' and now a wood
Comes toward Dunsinane". Act 5, Scene 5
He really is Macbeth..
When shall we three meet again ?
McBLAIR "EU PRESIDENCY FOR ME"
McKEN "MAYOR OF LUXEMBURG FOR ME"
McBROON "YEARS OF BEING BITTER AND TWISTED ON THE BACKBENCHES FOR ME I AM THE NEW TED HEATH"
The Tories are Burnham Wood? Talk about vote blue, go green.
The real Macbeth of course stayed on the throne for 17 years - the literary one was of course a (brilliant) propaganda tool.
