Have just received a rather disturbing email suggesting a well respected Labour MP of long-standing and thorn in the Governments' side has passed away this evening. Nothing more to add to really.
Update: The news was confirmed last night on the wire sometime after midnight that Gwyneth Dunwoody MP died last night. She was a great Parliamentarian even if she was on the opposing political side to my own views. A genuine loss to Parliament.

I read about the verbal pasting Gwyneth gave that horrid sewer-rat Blears over her decision to split my county of Cheshire into two councils against all reason. She seemed like a proper old MP, there to represent the people and speak up on thier behalf, something not true for most of her self-serving shitbag colleagues in NuLab. A real shame, the British people need more MP's like the late Gwyneth.
Andy.
RIP Gwyneth Dunwoody.
It's going to be an interesting by-election ... a majority of only about 7,000 last time around, much of it apparently Dunwoody's personal vote in a steadily gentrifying area. In other words, if Dave can't make this one happen, he's underperforming.
Your comment nicely judged for a true parliamentarian.
The interest now who will they `put up` as their candidate at the bye election

One of the last of the inependently minded MPs. She would have no truck with ministerial double-speak and spin, one of the few politicians to genuinely represent her constituents.
A sad day for Crewe and Nantwich as no doubt a ZanuLiebour crony will be parachuted in the for by-election.
Crewe and Nantwich is eminently winnable for us.
And before anyone accuses me of bad taste, let the accuser swear blind the thought had not occurred to him or her.
DC ought to win this if they are to form the next government. As politicalbetting reports, their record at these things is appalling. The LibDems are very good at it, although their present disarray may count against them.
Labour to retain it - just - because the Libdems will take away from the Tory.
This lady was the soul of the Labour party, a soul so many of the drones who've been elected since '97 simply have no concept of
A sad day for the Labour party. She was just about the only Labour MP I had any respect left for at all.
I think it's a very sad fact that every Labour MP who has died in the last ten years has been a decent person. Whereas every Labour MP who hasn't died in the last 10 years is a cunt who should be shot.
Expect Kate Hoey (sp?) to die of Blue tongue fairly shortly.

Round of applause for Zorro.
good MP but dual loyalties? She was President of the Labour Friends of Israel at the time of her death.
A very sad day.
Not only has a great Lady who devoted her life to the Labour party died.
Gordon Brown has announced that the Labour government will not deviate in its intention to double the tax on the UK's poorest.
What has been interesting is that there is hardly anybody on TV or radio who can explain the motivation and dedication of the right wing of the Labour party which wouldn't touch the SDP; the core candle holders who outlived Foot and Kinnock, but who had to make way for NuLabour. Wrong, maybe, but heroically wrong.
Jack dromey is after a seat.
croydonian, thoughts of who will win her seat just had not occurred to me. She wielded her spear majestically, and I take comfort from having on occasions helped sharpen it from afar.
