Police probing the alleged abduction of Shannon Matthews have arrested a woman in West Yorkshire on suspicion of perverting the course of justice. There are unconfirmed reports that the 32-year-old is Shannon's mother Karen but these are yet to be verified.Let's see where this one goes next.

Can't help wondering why he was given custody of the son, but not the daughter?

Note the creepiness of the mother first shacking up with kiddie pr0n (allegedly) boy when he was 17. One wonders how long they had been, cough, courting before he moved in.
Rumours that the West York Police shouted '180' as they arrested Shannon's mum are denied.....

On a more serious note - it is possibly worth noting that on the day that the step-dad was arrested was also the day the government was warning about the evils of internet chat rooms.
