Naughty Mr Crick

As I'm posting from my phone I can't do links but if you get a copy of the News of World page 19 has a most amusing story. The BBC's leftie uber-exposer of sleaze Michael Crick has been caught dumping his cancer suffering mistress by text message. Of course I'm a little biased with my crowing as Crick once 'revealed' a story about Clegg's leadership campaign which I posted about months before. Couldn't happen to a nicer bloke.

One thing you have to say about Crick, is that he has never been a moraliser on sexual issues in his stories. He hammered Archer on various scandals but didn't need to rely on the salacious stuff to make him look terrible.
Gotta love News of the Screws though!

Back in 2002 Panorama's special programme on the trial of Jeffrey Archer won a major award at the Royal Television Society Awards. The programme aired in July 2001 to coincide with the Archer trial verdict: guilty of perjury and perverting the course of justice. It showed new evidence about Archer's mistress and the amount of money he gave to prostitute Monica Coghlan - contradicting his assertions that he was devoted and faithful to his wife. According to the judges "If there was a Professor of Archerology it would surely be reporter Michael Crick who has made Jeffrey Archer's business his business for more than a decade. In the year of Archer's nemesis and imprisonment for perjury, Crick reported once again on the saga he rightly described as Stranger Than Fiction. Though merciless in its details and very funny at times, this was the product of superb investigative journalism on and off screen and told with some understandable relish."

I wonder if Mr Crick will think the details revealed by the NOTW are quite so funny?

"He didn't know she had just been diagnosed with breast cancer..."

Funny how you missed that bit out of your little summary.

Crick did run a hugely crap story on Huhne's leadership campaign (the first time around) which had been planted by an especially odious Tory MEP. Seriously weak telly.
