Quick observaion on Pakistan
Does anyone remember when Pervez Musharraf took control in Pakistan? Back then he was a General and it was a military coup. At some point over the next six months he became 'President' Musharraf and the manner in which he seized power was seemingly forgotten (or should I say just not mentioned anymore). I've always thought it amusing the way he went from being a General to President in such an orderly manner in the media. Effectively implementing martial law is a handy reminder of his military roots I guess, I see he's still called 'President' in a lot of place though.

Another military junta that we are prepared to turn a blind eye to. Miliband will choose his words very carefully this weekend!
BBC last night was covering their bases, they had him labeled - General President Musharraf.
Now today he is either President, or General.
I notice the Bottler has said little upon the matter.
So I suppose it will be up to the Boy Miliband to open his mouth and see how many feet he can squeeze in!
Sadly the alternatives are worse.
Miliband has given a rather non-committal statement on the matter (here: http://www.gnn.gov.uk/Content/Detail.asp?ReleaseID=327915&NewsAreaID=2). From his below average speech at the Labour party conference he seems rather inexperienced to say the least. I don't back him to have any meaningful impact.
THOUGHTS FROM A TORY

I'll tell you when he became 'President' - about a week after 9/11.
Is he the first President / Premier in history to have staged a coup against himself???
