OK, so my instinct is to call 'bullshit' (pardon the pun that will become clear shortly) on this news story. However I then found it in the Washington Post and Fox News and wonder whether they would be conned too - in fairness to both they did decide to look on Snopes first - Fox even reckons the BBC have reported similarly from Zambia in the past.
What am I talking about? Well allegedly an advisory was sent out in Florida about a new drug doing the rounds called "Jenkem" which is a mixture of a mixture of human feces and urine in a bottle which you then "huff" to get high.
Gives a whole new meaning to the term "crackpipe" or someone saying "man this is good shit" doesn't it? Feel free to add as many jokes as you can think of in the comments, there must be so many.
Update: The BBC link. Still think it's balls though.
Update II: The alleged advisory.

I tried sniffing coke once. Couldn't see what the fuss was all about. Just a lot of brown sugary fizz up the nostril.
It's hard to anal-yse what it's all about. Provided they aren't taking the piss.
I can't see what there would be in this mixture to get anyone high. Even if it originated in a 'recreational' drug user - virtually all molecules of any active substance taken into the body are metabolised (broken down) before excretion via urine or faeces.
I suppose there might be the vague euphoria which occurs during partial asphyxiation, if you filled up enough of your respiratory system with it. Drowning in shit ... lovely.
Given the lengths to which habitual junkies go, and the vile substances they are already known to ingest, it's not hard to see how the media could be taken in.
Especially given the gradual dumbing down of both journalism and science...
talk about taking the piss...
...bottoms up!
...Now that IS a crock of shit.
I think I have too much time on my hands.
Is it methane or asphyxia that gives the high? (Methane has vague narcotic effects at low concentrations.)
A triumph for recycling though.
The BBC link looks very fake, like that "BBC story" that did the rounds about the midgits fighting the lions. It was a spoof.
How long will it be before this poor kid is on the hard shit?
That'll depend on his fiber intake.
A google search seems to indicate that the "high" is from methane??
Cake, anyone?
From the BBC report: "Children are sent out onto the streets to earn a living, ... or simply abandoned by parents, who cannot afford to feed and clothe them."
Q: What's worse, abandoning children or using a coat hanger?
A: Free condoms
ps why don't the links below the BBC title banner work?
ALex 3:39 is right?
If it isn't a croc, could the fact that the mess has "fermented" mean that some other gases or spores are present? Or is someone flytipping chemicals in the same spot?
My guess on the image thing would be either (a) the site is a deliberate spoof by the BBC or (b) it's just an old archive page
Is the hand of Chris Morris detectable? What next? "Triple-sod", "Yellow Bentines" and "Clarky Cat"? (jessop, jessop, jessop)
You soon get used to it: the government have been handing it out to everyone, free of charge, for the last ten years.
