The following pictures are stills from the moment that Blair handed power over to Brown and then Blair realises they've been caught doing it on camera. You can quite literally see the tension in the images between the two men.
They form part of a three-part BBC documentary in which Blair speaks out for the first time about his relationship with Brown. Blair will apparently say that independence for the Bank of England was his idea and "if Gordon had been against it that would have been a different matter altogether, but he wasn't".
The most revealing quote in the MoS article though relates to the tensions between the two architects of New Labour. Blair says that "[t]here is no point in going into the past in a way that would be unhelpful to him now. I'm not saying there weren't real problems, but it never bothered me."
If there was ever a more obvious coded message where one politician reminded the other that he can ruin him if he wants too, then I'm not sure what it could be. He's basically saying "I'm still here Gordon, and you know I can ruin you. Don't you forget it". It really is a brilliant "non-attack attack". Wonder what the book will reveal?
Feel the love!

I smell the odour of cherie on this with books on the way a few good spoilers will assure good sales. The other possibility is he just couldnt wait to pay the snot eater back for 10yrs of sulks and tantrums they realy were a class act just like 5yr olds.
Yep, I was just adding a note about what the book might reveal when your comment came in.
I reckon the level of attack on Brown in it will depend entirely on how Brown treats him between now and then, as well as if Blair perceives Brown to be unpicking his work.
With blair reluctantly letting his name go forward as first prez of the EU perhaps his price for silence is gordos backing and this was just a shot across the bows.
"Blair hands power to Brown."
Eh? I think you'll find that Blair resigned his office to Her Majesty, who then chose to ask Brown to form a government.
Blair's and Cherie's problem is that however much they've got on Gordon, he's got maybe a lot more on them.....

Would this be the start of a Blair campaign to be EU President ?
