What Bercow is about to do?

Yestedray, Ben Brogan brought us the news that Gordon Brown had hired the services the of John Bercow but that it wouldn't be a defection. In today's You Ask the Questions wee Dougie Alexander, in response to a question about which current political rival he most admired, said,

"John Bercow. On global poverty he has some good, challenging views."

If Brogan is right then does Alexander's answer indicate what they've hired him to work on?
