Don't they have some sort official font policy?

Everyone has pet hates right? Those little things that really annoy you for no rational reason but you know for definite that your view of them, and the subsequent irritating feelings they generate are right no matter what anyone says.

One of mine is the font Comic Sans. See it? It's over there, it's horrible. It's supposed to be some sort of bubbly novelty font but it just winds me up no end. I tell you this because I've just received an email where it was used.

This was not any old email though, it was a "we confirm receipt fo your email" response to a Freedom of Information request from the bloody Treasury. How professional of them. Could you imagine if all Government documents were written in Comic Sans? What a horrible thought.

Ban Comic Sans

It means they're treating your request as a joke?

The font is not comic: it resembles the lists and goals written in felt pen on flipcharts & whiteboards during brain storming sessions. What the fcuk is comic about that?

Comic Sans is designed to be used in 6/8 point Bold Italic.

Try it!

But surely if all communications from this Government were written in Comic Sans, it would be appropriate to gather them all together in a Comic Book. Just have pity on the poor soul who has then to do the illustrations!

Now THAT might connect the Govt with "the People".

Looks like our PM's comedy felt-tip signature ...

Using comic sans is like having a humourus answering machine message, followed, by a recorded message to say that your mother's dead.

I agee. It is ugly and tends to undermine any message it might be conveying.
