Reid accuses Hain of flip-flopping?

John Reid apparently has an enemy on matters about terrorism and security other than Gordon Brown now. Today Reid is planning on making an announcmeent about terrorism to the House of Commons which Brown gazzumped with his allegedly dodgy spinning to the Sunday lobby.

But, if the casual mention in this morning's Times is anything to go by it's not just Brown who has annoyed the Glaswegian pitbull. People will of course remeber a few weeks ago when the whole "stop and search" thing was briefed to the press and there was mixed reaction about it's worthiness.

Peter Hain, the deputy leadership candidate got in quick with the Cabinet revolt by saying that the proposals were the "domestic equivalent of Guantanamo Bay". Clearly this would annoy any Home Secretary when a Cabinet colleague slates you, but more so for Reid.

It seems someone has been briefing on his behalf explaining that the reason he was so mightily "pissed off" with Hain's intervention was because it was all Hain's idea in the first place and came directly from the Northern Ireland Office. You have to love elections huh? So much intrgue, back stabbing and general bitchiness.

Well it would be nice to know that Peter Hain has returned to his roots, and his senses.
